Vehicle Tracking
One of the project we have done for our client is a system for tracking the location of
trucks. Whether is it the delivery of goods on time, checking the status of where the goods are or whether
the vehicle has broken down or got stuck in traffic congestion; it is an extremely using tool.
Our solution is based on SMS messaging to relay the location of the vehicle. Coupled with a GPS device,
we can easily retrieve location information of any vehicle on the move.
With the advancement of mobile data services like GPRS, we can even develop a solution to communicate
with the vehicles computer (a simple one) to relay messages as well as get certain monitoring status based
on the sensors that are attached to the various components of the vehicle.
Here is an illustration of the concept:
Space Optimization
In multi-level storage, there are hundreds of space for crates and boxes to be stored. It will the interest
of the business owner to maximize the space utilization of the racks. However, it will be extememly tedious for
a person to calculate which box should go into which empty or half filled rack space, especially when the boxes
are of different sizes. This scenerio is common in the logistics business. This is the reason VisualSoft provides
this solution to help store and warehouse owners optimize their space as well as help them locate where the labeled
boxes are being stored.
Inventory Tracking
Tracking the number of items in the inventory as well as managing them based on changing market demands
is a daunting task, especially if you do not have an electronic system to help you. As with most business, it is
common to stock hundreds of item for a shop, no to mention export import businesses. VisualSoft offers a solution
that will allow you to track the stock levels of all items and generate alerts when the stock level is low.
The system will also allow for multiple trigger levels; for example when the level is at 30%, 10% and 5%. This
level of tracking is very useful for items that are sensitive to demands and are never allow to deplete too low a level.
Usually such items requires long lead time after issuing the purchase order. Our system allow for each item's lead
time to be entered and will trigger alert based on the trigger rules for each items. As such, our system is more like
a human inventory manager than just a electronic system.
Below is an example of a wine inventory list:

The table above illustrate a scenerio where some wines have longer lead-time for delivery. The
lead-time trigger the system to alert the buyer to issue purchase order for the item. If the inventory
tracking system is integrated into our E-commerce system, orders can be issued automatically if the buyer
choose to do so by giving pre-authorization rights for the system to issue purchase orders.
